PASITHEA 1st Plenary Meeting at „Henri Coandă” Air Force Academy, Braşov, Romania 27th of February 2024
On February 27, 2024, representatives from all nine partners involved in the European Defence Fund’s PASITHEA project convened for the inaugural Plenary meeting at the Henry Coanda Air Force Academy in Brasov, Romania. Hosted by the Academia Forțelor Aeriene “Henri Coandă”, the meeting began with opening remarks from Air Force Academy officials, followed by introductory comments from the consortium members.
The Consortium used this opportunity to address crucial aspects of PASITHEA, focusing on administrative coordination, project implementation, as well as technical, quality, and risk management issues. Partners reviewed the progress of ongoing Work Packages and introduced those yet to commence.
The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss user requirements, operational environments, and the missions designated for the Hybrid Autonomous Unmanned Vehicle (HAUV). A significant discussion centered around the questionnaire to be distributed during upcoming workshops with stakeholders to gather user requirements. One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the consensus on the main missions, namely surveillance and reconnaissance.
Additionally, the open discussion included preliminary deliberations on the HAUV’s design and critical considerations for the consortium. Defence experts also continued the dialogue on operational conditions, providing major input for selecting the most suitable design concerning range, mission duration, and payload capacity.
Next Steps:
The Consortium has agreed to hold the second Plenary Meeting in Lisbon in July 2024. By this time, the first six months of the PASITHEA project will have been completed, providing the Consortium with more substantial information, work packages, and materials for discussion and further development.
